differentiated marketing

differentiated marketing
= multiple market segmentation
1) Marketing in which provision is made to meet the special needs of certain consumers. For example, weight watchers require diet drinks and left-handed people require left-handed scissors.
2) A marketing exercise in which the marketer selects more than one target market and then develops a separate marketing mix for each. The differentiation strategy for each of these target markets is a strategy in which the marketer offers a product that is unique in the industry, provides a distinct advantage, or is otherwise set apart from competitors' brands in some way other than price.
